The Metro Interpreting Resources Center (MIRC) was developed to provide coordinated training and administrative support for the decentralized network of interpreters operating in Fargo-Moorhead-West Fargo metropolitan area.

The MIRC partners have agreed to collaborate on this initiative because qualified interpreters are needed to ensure that public services are delivered effectively and that all area residents have equal access to services.

VISION

To provide ongoing interpreting training and create a pool of professional interpreters to serve the residents of Cass and Clay counties.

 

MISSION

Serve as an interpreting resource center for the Fargo-Moorhead-West Fargo metropolitan area.

GOALS

1.  Conduct training sessions for individuals interested in working as English language interpreters.

 

2.  Provide support to local interpreters and to agencies who seek to use interpreter services

 

3.  Create and maintain a list of trained interpreters who are willing to work in Cass and Clay counties in both scheduled and unscheduled/emergency situations.

Partners providing foundational support for this project:

This includes departments of law enforcement, public health, social services, housing, education and general administration.  Each of these member agencies is represented on the Advisory Board that guides the work of this project. 

Organizations and Businesses interested in accessing the MIRC list of interpreters to better serve their clients' needs can review the organization's List Service policy.
